Coronaviruses generally are seasonal and it may be that we will see a peak and then a drop off in infections with a return and a second wave or subsequent waves in future years.
HOW VACCINE WILL HELP?
Vaccines protect in two ways: They can protect an individual directly by giving them immunity to the infection, but they can also indirectly protect other individuals through something called herd immunity.
If enough individuals are vaccinated, then transmission of the infection in the population can be reduced or even eliminated. In order to– for a vaccine to interrupt transmission, you have to make sure that the reproduction number is less than one– that is every infectious individual has a probability less than one of infecting another individual. Under those circumstances, the disease will die out as a result of the vaccination programme. Despite the huge protection and benefit from vaccination, there is no vaccine that gives 100% protection to all individuals for their entire life.
WHY QUARANTINE / LOCK-DOWN WILL HELP?
According to Hierarchy of Controls Protocol, safest method is to isolate the impacted people. Since Covid-2019 doesn’t show symptoms immediately & sometimes symptoms are low grade, So best bet is to practice Physical Distancing as we don’t know who is impacted at early stage & that carrier can spread it in widespread manner. THIS COULD REALLY PLAY HAVOC
After the spread it will be difficult to manage as we will fall short of medical supplies, hospitals, staff etc. Hence it is best to flatten the curve of spread of virus.
PPE is the least effective method, it doesn’t ensure complete protection. So please respect Frontline Workers (Doctors, Nurses, Hospital Staff, Police, Fire Safety Personnel’s, Grocery Shop Workers, etc) STAY HOME FOR THEM. We are already unable to provide them the proper PPE due to shortage, please cooperate with them.

Is the vaccine prepared or when it’ll be ready?
Hi, 5 Human Trials are going on! Hope for the best. We had 40 vaccine options, out of which 5 Trials have started recently. This is a huge advancement in 3.5 months.
